NOTE FROM THE CREATOR: "Treescape 1" is one of those paintings that I pulled out of my imagination. I was learning a new masking technique so this piece just came together instinctively with little planning. This is a good example of what can result when creating spontaneously and not over thinking things. "Treescape 1" is one of my most popular paintings and the vibrant colors are what people tell me they enjoy most about this piece. This feedback has been so consistent that it has definitely influenced the colors I use in many of my paintings. In this masking technique, the tree shapes are formed with torn masking tape which simulates the rough texture of tree bark.
